Langtang Birdwatching Trek
From a deep forest gorge to the yak pastures below Langtang Lirung, a short drive from Kathmandu.
10 days, up to 4,773 m, and 70 birds recorded on this route.
Best months: March to May and October to November.
1 / 5
The Himalayan park closest to Kathmandu. A deep forest gorge full of niltavas, minivets and the chance of a Red-headed Trogon, then yak pastures under Langtang Lirung, where Ibisbill feed on the river shingle and Snow Pigeons wheel overhead. Ten unhurried days, with a spare day at Kyanjin Gompa for the high birds.
